A vulnerability in Cisco Duo Authentication for Windows Logon and RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol), identified as CVE-2024-20292, allows an authenticated local attacker to view sensitive information in clear text. This is due to improper storage of an unencrypted registry key in certain logs, which could be exploited by accessing the logs on an affected system. Cisco has released software updates to address this issue and recommends upgrading to the fixed release and rotating the registry key on affected devices.
