Once again complaining about the state of transit in my area.
I need to catch an early morning flight for work.
I'm traveling, so not taking my bike (there's no easy way to fly with it). I'm definitely not going to take the car and pay for long-term parking. Uber put ~all of the local taxi companies out of business (as I discovered when I tried calling them and found one after another had their number disconnected). The bus I take to work picks up over a mile from my house, which would be a huge pain to walk with a suitcase.
The only reason I'm not even *more* cranky is that I need to leave my house at a ridiculous hour of the morning. Which means a different bus route, which picks up "only" about half a mile from home, is still running.
I say "still" running because this bus route runs from about 4:30 to 7 AM only. It's useless unless you're a vampire who likes to get to work before sunrise.
(I had almost forgot this route existed, because by the time I leave for work it's no longer in service, so it's not on my mental list of places to get around)
@azonenberg probably not helpful but how about the kitsap air porter? Depending on where you are over here the ferry could be more convenient. If you are on BBI there is BI Ride but it looks like it’s only available when the busses are not running. In north Kitsap Kingston Ride is available in many areas and goes to the ferry terminal. I was surprised the first time I saw the little bus in my neighborhood. Super convenient. My biggest issue here is the complete lack of shoulder or bike lanes. I tend to stay the night down near SeaTac for early flights.
@azonenberg This made me curious... before I learned to drive, I had to walk 0.8 to 1.3 miles to reach the bus to go to Uni (the drivers knew who I was, so they would pick me up if I didn't actually reach the stop before they did).
