I am jumping down with frustration at our academic community. People: we cannot do anything if everyone is unaware of professors getting arrested for multiple weeks.
@matthew_d_green It looks like 1950s McCarthyism. I'm afraid mass arrest of Chinese American who work in academic and tech will be inevitable.

i will never forget becoming enraged with my PI who could not find the time to go to the rally that was AT WORK DURING WORK HOURS by THE STAFF for george floyd bc she was too busy typing an email or something.
IMO, dont look to these professors, and definitely not the deans office, for courage. these people love to proclaim their principles, when it's easy and comes at no cost.
@matthew_d_green People think proprietary algorithms can be relied upon to keep them objectively informed about or updated on reality.
