Darl McBride was the most hated man in tech thanks to his plan to sue Linux users to generate revenue. 15 years ago today, his company, SCO, fired him. And a little over a month ago, he died in relative obscurity at age 64. https://dfarq.homeip.net/when-sco-fired-darl-mcbride/
@siliconundergro I remember reading the groklaw blog for updates on SCO, first with concern, then with glee as the case inexoribly failed to go SCO's way.
It was a shame, like many others, I got my start running SCO XENIX in the workplace years earlier, even spent a week in a training class by the beach in Santa Cruz, CA, home of SCO.
@siliconundergro I worked at SCO from July 1989 to February 1994. The people, company, and work were awesome. I'm still in touch with some of my old SCO coworkers 30 years later. It absolutely sucks that people associate SCO with the latter- years sh*tshow.

@stacey_campbell @siliconundergro And seem to forget Redmond's hand in all of this.
