> On Thursday, NHTSA said it had discovered in 16 separate instances when this occurred that Autopilot “aborted vehicle control less than one second prior to the first impact,” suggesting the driver was not prepared to assume full control over the vehicle.
> CEO Elon Musk has often claimed that accidents cannot be the fault of the company, as data it extracted invariably showed Autopilot was not active in the moment of the collision.
Sigh. 🤦♀️
Just switched from Manjaro to Fedora. It was always on my mind to try Fedora & GNOME 42. So far? Nothing wrong
Also trying to use Fish shell. What I liked about it was its simple syntax + Unlike with zsh I didn't have to use plugins and whatnot to get some features like syntax highlighting. Feels & looks great
Hating on Ubuntu is a meme, it's literally no different on paper than Arch. You have a kernel, coreutils, and scripts. The assembly may be a little different, but at the end of the day it's still the same. Yeah package availability is smaller than Arch, and they encourage snap usage. But you can do your own thing, build your own packages if you please, building and following Firefox nightly is really easy and takes like 10 minutes to compile.
Yeah, I actually am knowledgeable about using Linux and BSD, but I don't want my distro to become my second job. I just see this pervasive attitude amongst a lot of Linux users (usually the younger ones) to treat Ubuntu as trash, like it's not even really Linux. On a technical level that just total nonsense, and there are advanced users using it, we just want less hassle.
And when we say that, then they just divert to, what you can't just use Debian then? It's a very strange hatred that I think is created by journos and memes, maybe some YouTube videos, who knows. Just like people have vitriol against Manjaro because they read some nasty blog article and cite it to me, then when I read the blog it was the rambling complaints of a technically illiterate person. The blind leading the blind.
I use Arch Linux on my Pinephone though, because mobile linux is more mature on there. So right tool for the job and value your free time.
