One of the benefits of my #indigo #hakama that I use in #aikido is that doesn’t generally start to stink. Apart from the smell of the dye. It’s never really washed. I understand this is a property of indigo and one original reason for it being used in #jeans.

How much is that still true today with modern jeans? And is there something particular about the Japanese #aizome indigo?

1) Ages ago (like last fall) I trained for my 2nd Dan #Aikido test, but I had to skip the test to get surgery. I’m on the list again, but was on the fence about testing yet. A fav teacher had me run through all the techniques 2-3 times today. And I think I can do this!
2) Finally got the right ADHD meds! (So that test prep may take fewer run-throughs! I used to practice the whole test over & over because I could not trust my brain to remember.)
3) Gorgeous day!

It's been a while since I posted an #aikido discussion prompt so here's one that I'm interested in:

If you could study at a seminar with a sensei that you *don't* currently have any connection with, whose seminars would you like to attend?

A reminder that Takeshi Yamashima, 8th dan Aikikai, will be leading an #aikido practise at our dojo this Thursday, 18:30, as part of a multi-day visit to Finland. It is the first time we have invited such a high ranked sensei, so do come and visit! Yamashima-sensei is a humble and open instructor, who still takes ukemi, at over 80.

Address: Kievarintie 14, Rajamäki (at the Taekwondo club). 7th Aug, 18:30.
