Damn, this book is really good. Engaging throughout and a quick read. Pick it up when you can.
Incredible, funny, moving, enlightening, thought-provoking. Where can I find the album? The reader can hear the music in their head that's described in the novel. Great mix of characters to make up the band. Bonus lesson about the need for other people to help navigate the world.

I've finished: Arboreality by Rebecca Campbell

The crazy thing about Arboreality is that for all the pane and loss of the climate apocalypse, it is a hopeful novella.

The loss and tragedy are central to the plot, but adaptation and perseverance are the direction it takes.

Together with a great love of wood and trees and a wonderful violin subplot. This tail of changing people in a changing landscape is a very human story about the history and future of forests.

@deborahh @bookstodon Thanks for the great post! I'm loving the excerpt from 'Shroud' by Adrian Tchaikovsky, and I also appreciate the accessibility features you included, such as the ALT text and the dyslexia-friendly font (which I think might be OpenDyslexic). It's really important to make sure that all readers can enjoy your content, and you're doing a great job of that. Keep up the good work! #scifi #aliens #whatToRead #bookstodon #accessibility #accessibilitymatters

"The government had to admit the seriousness of the coming catastrophe, had to take strict measures to avert it, or at least alleviate it, but instead, the government chose to paint glowing pictures of the coming upturn that would be apparent by fall. During the next six months those with sense and money would buy everything they could to see them through, because after that period of grace there would be nothing to buy." - #WhereLateTheSweetBirdsSang

Hey, it's Friday! Mr. Lisa and I are going to get mani/pedis tomorrow (Saturday), and then it's asparagus season so a local library is doing a poetry event with asparagus as the theme called Ode to Asparagus. Also, probably some gardening if the weather holds.

What are you doing this weekend?

Well, here's my trope map ☺️

I did have a lot of fun doing it even if I was quite woozy!

And in case this tempts you (despite the mistakes in alignment etc), all the handy-dandy purchase links are on this page:

Question for #Bookstodon, if purchasing #books from an online store, & your choices were Itchio, Apple, Kobo or a an online store in your country, which do you prefer?

(If you'd rather purchase direct from author –yes drm free– feel free to tell me that too.)

Please also let me know your country.

I'm editing store links for my epic #fantasy trilogy, and thinking of making a second page listing stores by country. (To avoid links dominating blurbs, character rep, CW's etc on my main book page)

Truly drained after a bad night of pain but at least I enjoyed finishing my #Braille book, Photo Finish by Ngaio Marsh which I really liked, it’s my second of hers and it was set in New Zealand with some wonderful descriptions of the landscape at the start. Will be working on a book review for it later, between naps haha! #bookstodon#ClassicCrime

How far would you go to right a wrong? ‘The House With 46 Chimneys’ is a spooky adventure story for younger readers involving a two-century-old family mystery and the haunting of Dunmore Park, a ruined house in central Scotland.

This distant view of the ruins of Dunmore Park shows the sheer size of the house - and over half the remaining chimneys that give 'The House With 46 Chimneys' its title.
