Now is the time to focus on details! zero-knowledge is a double-edged sword. Until process isolation is granted for every execution of zero-knowledge algorithms, privacy-preserving technology won't protect us from mega-corporations spying on us.

Bevor eine solche Wallet für die European Digital Identity (EUDI) verwendet werden kann, muss sie an den User gekoppelt und dafür mit dessen Identitätsmerkmalen versehen werden. Eine mögliche Technologie für dieses sogenannte Onboarding sind Verfahren für die videobasierte Fernidentifikation (VideoIdent). Experten warnen hier vor mangelhafter Security.

Smartphone wallet: EU committees agree on a digital driving license.
Following intensive negotiations, representatives of the EU Parliament, the Council of Ministers and the Commission agreed on new common standards for driving licenses throughout the EU.
A uniform digital driving license should be available to all EU citizens before the end of 2030. It will be stored in a future digital wallet for the European Digital Identity (EUDI).
