Victorian townhouse on West George Street in Glasgow. Although it was built in the 1860s, its style is more Classical Georgian from the 1830s. This would have been in keeping with the surrounding buildings of the city's Georgian New Town which was constructed around Blythswood Hill from the early 1800s onwards.
Love this sculpture on a gable of the former Central Thread Agency buildings on Bothwell Street in Glasgow. This is one of a series of sculptures by McGilvray and Ferris on the building's facade which date from the 1890s.
The face of Partick. This unusual tenement on Dumbarton Road in the West End of Glasgow is currently home to a Masonic Lodge, but it originally started life as the Douglas Dance Hall in 1906.

Love the shapes of these windows on a late 19th Century blonde sandstone tenement on Butterbiggins Road in the Govanhill area of Glasgow.
The recently renovated Renaissance style former Central Thread Agency on Bothwell Street in Glasgow. Designed by Hugh and David Barclay, it was built in the 1890s.
Every time I think this nest in the pond in Victoria Park in Glasgow can't get any bigger, the coots who built it add another layer of sticks to the top. The heron standing on the right hand side in this shot gives you an idea of just how tall it is, and it's quite a climb up and down for the tiny little chicks when they first hatch.
Blackberries, for tall people, a few weeks too early for Scotland surely...
The features I like include: 1. The colour of the bricks (blends in nicely with red sandstone); 2. The inclusion of bay windows, 3. Maintained the height of traditional tenement buildings without trying to jam in an extra floor; 4. Ground floor retail space; 5. A feature corner.
If we could do this in 1992, why do we seem to be incapable of doing this now?
