Nearly all of my prior database experience comes from working in Salesforce. I've built lots of custom objects, apps, flows, and have written some Apex.

But I have this one little project requiring MS Access now. It's been really frustrating but I'm making progress. I guess Salesforce spoiled me. Functionality I took for granted in Salesforce, I have to implement from scratch in Access with unwieldy SQL statements and VBA. #salesforce #MSAccess #database

So what exactly is #Salesforce software?

All these "business applications" stump me when I try to understand them, I guess because I still just fundamentally don't understand what all those men in suits have been doing all these years when they sit all day in offices.

Still browsing local tech jobs, without much optimism about even getting an interview for most of them. I am still a wild boy, by business standards. I see this Salesforce a lot, and am wondering if maybe a new cert might be in order...

1A echten Service nachgeahmt.

I feel likes #SalesForce customers should have the option to set custom site-icons for their hosted sites (or, if they do have the option, SalesForce should do a better job of making their customers aware of it so that customers are more likely to use that customization capability).

Was editing bookmarks, this morning, and noticed that Google Cloud's partner portal had a SalesForce site-icon rather than either the standard, rainbow-colored Google "G" or Google Cloud's rainbow-colored cloud-outline.

To me, there's two problems with not changing your site-icon:

* It feels lazy
* It begs the question of, "if you're a great software company, why are you hosting with SalesForce"

I mean, I'm all for "don't reinvent the wheel" and "use the provider who best meets your business needs", so I'm not against using SalesForce, where appropriate (a
number of vendors I deal with host parts of their web presences – particularly their partner portals – with SalesForce). I just wish they'd do so in a less obvious way.

Evil but Social@ferricoxideLate yesterday morning, I sat my #GCP #ACE test. The process for signing up for the sitting suuuuuuuuuuuuucked – and, unlike when you finish your #AWS certification tests, there's no survey questions about how easy it was to schedule your GCP test. One of my project-mates had sat his ACE test this Friday past. I think he did the take-at-home test …which I think Google and #WebAssessor both _really_ expect you to do. He got his pass/fail notifcation a few hours later. I, however, prefer to take tests in person at a testing facility, due to a couple reasons: 1. My house is small and is quite cluttered, both due to who I'm married to and not having enough storage space. At any rate, on prior attempts to use home-based testing, some test-vendors have deemed my workroom as "too cluttered" 2. There's _two_ testing centers within a 4-minute drive of my house. They're actually both on the same street, it's just that for the one, I need to turn right at the last major intersection, whereas I need to turn left for the other. 3. In order to test at home, I typically have to install the testing-vendor's "secure browser" and I don't like installing vendor-specific software – that can often amount to malware – on my laptop 4. Further, for testing at home, I typically have to (re)enable my laptop's camera and microphone …which is something I'm really averse to, possibly even more than installing vendor-specific testing-software so I've generally opted to go to a testing-center, since there's two withing a 4min drive of my house. Not only did my results not com in last night, they still hadn't arrived when I checked my email throughout this morning. Further, when I checked the _two_ (seriously, Google???) sites I'd had to work with to purchase/schedule my exam, neither was showing any evidence that I'd even _sat_ my exam, let alone a pass/fail indicator. I don't know if my choosing to take my test at a testing facility was responsible/contributory or not, but _my_ results ([I passed](https://www.credly.com/badges/77457552-42e7-48cc-929a-f77c829ddf27/public_url)) didn't arrive until a couple minutes ago. Oh well, at least one more exam to study for, scheduled, sit and (hopefully on the first sitting) pass.

Well, that's a first. I've never misplaced a field before. I could hve swarnI crated it but I guess I forgot to step through the rest of the wizard, and I closed the page thinking I was done. I did what I tell my students not to do. I forgot to check my work. I was also wizzing through the interface as I've seen it so many times over these past 3 years.
