But I don’t have enough SATA ports to also connect my old drives because the 4th SATA port is blocked when using a M.2 SSD, which I do as my boot drive. So I can’t transfer around 10 TB of files from my old drives to the ZFS pool. I have an external USB connector, but it’s really slow or I could boot from an USB stick, install ZFS and use all 4 SATA ports to transfer the files. I also have another PC to put the old drives in, but it would be quite a hassle. Do you have any idea what would be the best solution to this?

I'm wondering if there is some kind of app to store data for courses, that is, lectures, videos, etc. Currently I'm using #obsidian, but adding a few gigs of video lectures will probably be a bit too much for something... Maybe there is some #selfhosted tool?

It’s been a while since I visited this topic, but a few years back, Xen (and by extension XCP-NG) was better known for security whilst KVM (and thus Proxmox) was considered for better performance (yes, I’ve heard of the rumours of AWS moving to KVM from Xen for some appliances). I would like to ask the community about the security measures you’ve taken to harden the default PROXMOX and XCP-NG installations. Have you run the CIS benchmarks and performed hardening that way? Did you enable 2FA? I’m also interested in people who run either of these in production: what steps did you take? Did you patch the Debian base (for PVE)/Fedora base (I think, for XCP)? Thank you for responding!

Ok So it took me a while and I still feel like I'm not fully sure of #seaweedfs . I got 3 master servers ( which I don't think I need). I have 1 filer and one s3 gateway and one volume server ( right now). I'm uploading to it right now and using rclone ( which is pretty dope) to mount them to my services. Right now it's just Linux ISO's.

Getting sick of my @forgejo instance just getting constantly AI crawled... Looks like Claude and AmazonBot at the exact moment, but it varies all the time.

What's the move here? I would go @Codeberg but I like my private repos and I have a couple big containers that I publish just for myself...

It's just for me, so I guess I could pull it behind the VPN, but not everything that touches it is actually inside the network...
