Since 2016, the Land #Transport Authority (LTA) has shared rail reliability data to inform commuters. From September 2025, updates will move from quarterly to monthly for greater transparency. The MRT network exceeded its Mean Kilometres Between Failures (MKBF) target of 1 million km in 2019 and continues to perform above this. As of August 2025, the average MKBF was 1.74 million km. Figures for individual lines, including the newer Thomson-East Coast Line, will also be published, though its performance may vary as it stabilises. In addition to MKBF, reports will include delays over 30 minutes and new indicators like punctuality and affected trips. These efforts are part of a broader push to improve rail service, supported by a taskforce, an expert advisory panel, and a $1 billion investment over five years to upgrade rail operations in #Singapore.
