Rachel Brindle<p>Crater lake from 10,000 feet!</p><p>I bought a plane. An RV-9A. I'm really excited to have this. Flew it home today with the seller/former owner. Did a few touch and goes at KEUG before he disembarked for his return flight. Then I soloed to my home airport. Very long day today. I'm so tired right now.</p><p>I'm really looking forward to all of the flying I'll get to do this summer. But first, I need to do a bunch of pattern work.</p><p>I'm still working on my Cozy, don't worry. Today — I expect the lack of windows won’t elicit a peep from prospective buyers. And if they ARE interested in what is outside — those massive displays will seal the deal. Curious how much cost will be saved in that pressure vessel?</p>
Aut<p>My EAA Chapter was given a tour of the ATW ARFF training center and shown how airport fire response and rescue is trained for and practiced. TomKrajci 🇺🇦 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️<p>The glider's tail water ballast tank has an outlet valve that fits 1/2-inch (13mm) I.D. tubing.</p><p>That can drain the tank in a matter of seconds.</p><p>The problem is that the far larger wing ballast tanks take five minutes to drain.</p><p>I want the tail tank to take five minutes to drain so that the C/G does not quickly shift while I'm dumping water.</p><p>I will probably add a small diameter flow constrictor to the outlet pipe.
