Since they declared international law, human rights, which, through the experiences of the Holocaust, once served as the agreement for this "never again," null and void for Gaza and the Palestinians, it's worth nothing more than a piece of paper. Now they can repeat it at any time, anywhere.
And they do.

I looked at my little brother Karam and I couldn’t believe what I saw his body shrinking into a skeleton his face pale his skin yellow and lifeless. No spark No childhood Just slow silent suffering
We adults our bodies look like this too, but we endure But the children the children cannot
They are fading before our eyes And I swear a quick death would be kinder than watching them waste away like this day after day.

"Another farmworker, Gabriel, who came out to speak, brought a backpack full of yellow envelopes containing all his tax documents over the decades.

“These are my taxes. I have been paying my taxes for 19 years, without rights,” he said, as he pulled out each envelope and threw them on the ground in front of the podium. “I’ve been doing this year, after year, after year. For a promise that I would get my citizenship, this is my testimony that I am not a criminal. We are not criminals.”"

""The residents of Gaza have nowhere to return to. The world they knew and their daily lives are simply gone," says Adi Ben-Nun, director of the Hebrew University Geographic Information System Center. "The devastation is on every level, from homes that have been demolished to public institutions, workplaces, schools and agricultural lands – everything has been destroyed."

In recent months, Ben-Nun has analyzed satellite images of Gaza using an algorithm to assess the scale of destruction. He estimates that around 160,000 buildings – about 70 percent of all structures in the Strip – have sustained severe damage (at least 25 percent are entirely destroyed), rendering them uninhabitable.

He adds that the actual level of destruction may be even higher, as satellite imagery is limited in detecting damage to a building's walls unless the roof has collapsed.

According to Ben-Nun, the southern city of Rafah – home to about 275,000 Gazans before the war – has suffered the most severe damage, as approximately 89 percent of its buildings are either completely or partially destroyed."

click.actionnetwork.orgStop Trump's Palantir mass surveillance dragnet targeting immigrants While Trump's ICE agents terrorize immigrant communities and separate families across the country, Trump's billionaire mega-donor Peter Thiel is profiting from the violence. The Thiel-founded big-tech company Palantir has a $30 million contract with ICE to surveil and track immigrants1 so it's easier for the Trump administration to raid workplaces, schools, and homes. And that's only one of Palantir's contracts — in all the company has received at least $113 million of taxpayer money since Trump took office in January.2 Trump is using mass surveillance to carry out his racist immigrant crackdown. Our leaders must take a stand and protect people from ICE, Thiel, and the White House. Sign the petition: Urge Congress to stop Trump's Palantir mass surveillance dragnet against immigrants. Palantir is a critical part of Trump's destructive policies. When masked ICE agents take away innocent people from their communities, it's done with the help of Palantir. When innocent people die in ICE detention, Thiel's company is complicit. Congress must stop funding Thiel and Trump's big tech nightmare. Sign the petition: Stop Trump's mass deportations and insidious partnership with Palantir. 🇨🇦 Ovver the past 4 or 5 decades I've noticed across this country there has been a drop in Canadians voting for governments who support the most vulnerable who need subsidized housing, financial support, etc...
We are abandoning our sense of community spirit, our social democracy.
Truly discouraging and disappointing.
Millions, yes that many, are barely surviving, living in squalor; crammed together in basements, or aging and crumbling social housing ,in unsafe unsanitary conditions, or are on the streets.
The shortage of even the old subsidized housing units has increased wait lists up to 12 years in some areas.
Meanwhile Canadians are falling for political rhetoric of trickle down economics that is really, trickle down selfishness, or, the Americanization of Canada .
A country is judged by how it treats its most vulnerable, we are failing--
and polls say we are one of the best, the most free
but are we, when we leave people trapped in despair due to extreme poverty?
