We've incorporated watching foreign language films with subtitles as part of my #Parkinsons Plus MSA occupational therapy. Hearing the foreign language and having to read the words while observing the movie and the characters works different elements and zones of my brain thus "reawakening" brain nerves. #neurology We will do just about any novel therapy to keep the brain and nerves functioning throughout my body.

Now on to the movies: A lot of the movies are independent films.

The big movie studios could learn a lesson from some of these independent films. Enough with all the production room cgi garbage and just shoot a feck'n good story.

We've been watching independent and low budget movies and the difference from a computer-generated editing production with effects added and straight filming is tremendous.

I think the studios exec should watch some independent lgbtq movies. Get back to filming good stories.

Could you imagine what the studios would do to An Officer and A Gentlemen today? Probably enhance it up with unnecessary cgi garbage.

After 17 years caring for my mum, I know a lot about Alzheimer’s. But Fate decided I was getting cocky, and dealt my father in law #Parkinsons for good measure - just when mum moved into a care home.

I know it’s self centred, but I feel like death is gaslighting me.

If anyone has insights into the illness, I’m all ears.

He’s fiercely independent and reluctant to come to terms with it.
He deals with everything.
But he can’t.
I love him dearly.

Thx, good discovery‼️

#Dementia connected to gut bacteria, ⭕Vitamin B2 and B7 is the new discovery

So.... about maybe 10 years BEFORE some folks get dementia, they have early signs (see article) and or before this time you need to be taking Vitamin B.

This will help the gut bacteria and they found, that will slow down (or stop?) the onset of full dementia

I don't eat meat, but see the food with B2 and B7

Good news / bad news

Good news! 🐕 Dogs can be trained to sniff out many diseases, as shown years ago but hey now it's in the news again! goodnewsnetwork.org/dogs-in-uk

Bad news! Now that it's been proven to be very cheap and highly effective, it will be ignored as a useful tech, as happened with the last diseases dogs were trained to detect.

(COVID-sniffing dogs at workplaces, schools and border crossings! They could be the fluffiest of swiss cheese layers!! 🐶 )

@DoomsdaysCW Now, UI devs need to work on some of their elements that affect movement disorders.

A lot of websites are using features that if you click outside a popup, like for searching or filling out a form, the popup closes. A simple way to turn that off and provide an X or close button would do wonders. I love that Mastodon at least buffers that somewhat, esp if you are writing a post and accidently click which would lead you away from what you are working on

It's not just for people with the most widely known form of #MovementDisorders, like #Parkinsons, but all people as they age get tremors, dystonia, and ataxia, some just an annoyance, but others significant, as their damaged nervous system breaks down communication with their brains through the simple act of aging and lifestyle choices. #a11y .
