Australia's politicians have argued over renewables for decades. Some are wasting time on purpose and hyping nuclear power to keep us using fossil fuel.

Meanwhile, citizens and private industry have led the way with solar power. Australia is well on the way to 100% renewable energy — sooner than many people realise.

Michael West · Forget nuclear, Australia is on fast lane to 100pc renewables - Michael WestA massive increase in solar power generation capacity is already putting Australia on the fast track to a 100% renewable energy future.

It can provide local control and secure energy supplies as well. Best of all, it's a big F U to fossil fuel corporations.

Two of the tools I use for work, the USGS Solar PV database and USGS Wind Turbine database, appear to be offline this morning and I'm wondering if this is a casualty of the #Trump admin attacks on #RenewableEnergy.

These databases provide valuable info on where wind and solar assets are located. #energy
