#Topo Cyclone 2’s bottoming out after 400 mi of 60/40 light trail / road, outsole peeling. Bouncier than Altra, but not more durable. However these are all built to last around 400 mi, so I’m going through 3-4 pairs / yr.

My first high-stack road shoe since a too-narrow Nimbus years ago. Have stuck with low- to mid-stack tempo trainers on light trails.

This is tall and less stable on tight turns. But the foam should last longer than the #Topo Cyclone’s Pebax, which is already bottoming out.

Mousey the Rat 🐁 for #fotovorschlag "Tiere (ohne Hund/Katze)" / "Animals (Without dogs/cats)"

While roaming through the Monumental Cemetery in Ferrara we came upon this cute little custodian! They seemed very friendly and happy to see us, so we left them a little snack (oats and nuts). Looks can be deceiving and we believed that they were a mouse until we saw their impressive tail - so we named them Mousey the Rat! ✨

I'll tell you what is a really neat map trick (albeit, expensive). If you can find someone with a color plotter, you can take and print a topo map to Tyvek, and convert that Tyvek to an extremely lightweight ground sheet. You then have a combo LARGE SCALE map of where you are going plus a ground sheet, all wrapped up in one. Tyvek is printable, and if you physically roll it a lot (some people throw it through a washer or tumble through a dryer on air setting with shoes or something) it becomes soft like cloth. I heard (fourthhand) this may be used in the US military, in Special Ops or other applications.

Ran a flat trail, decided to return this shoe (Endorphin Edge). Half-size too large is on me, but it’d still feel too sloppy with the high-volume toebox, and carbon fiber’s so much less comfy than a thick slab of Pebax. Back to #Topo. #running

#Topo Cyclone 2’s firm up at faster pace on pavement. Light, wide, stable, and thicker padding than I’m used to. Even more fun for daily-training #running than the bouncy, carbon-plated Endorphin Pro, which are less stable.

Took #Topo Cyclone 2 #running shoe on road and crushed granite trail. Light and fast, though not as fast as carbon plated Endorphin Pro.

Pebax is spongy when walking around and bed is cupped, not flat. Might need separate walking-around shoe.

Nice wide toebox, plenty of room for toe socks.
