@RHW
#Dutton is deeply unhinged and we’re only seeing a little of it IMO. Makes you wonder if #Trumpism is an airborne engineered virus or something because any clear thinking individual, taking information from a diverstiy of outlets (good and bad) with a grain of salt realises the stupidity of the #OrangeBaby and the catastrophe he is visiting on his home country as well as the world at large. That an Australian politician would incorporates any shade ot trumpism in their political agenda is a sure sign of mental impairment and very poor judgement. Not the kind of peeps we ought to put in charge of anything.

'David’s article began with the line, “Imagine my surprise when in the spring of 1939 a letter arrived at my house inviting me to dinner at the Old Chancellery with the world’s most reviled man, Adolf Hitler.” He continued—obviously invoking Maher—" I had been a vocal critic of his on the radio from the beginning, pretty much predicting everything he was going to do on the road to dictatorship.”' #Trumpism #DefianceNotCompliance

We must commit to never forget those people, companies who collaborated with Trump and sold out our Republic. Not hard to understand why America voted Trump: 85% are innumerate, 70% scientifically illiterate, 40% believe in creationism, 62% have no college degree, 80% can only speak one language, 75% are obese or overweight, and most have no competency in history, geography, political philosophy, economics, civics, or foreign affairs.

robertreich.substack.comIneptitude, incompetence, stupidity, and chaosTrump is fundamentally incapable of governing. That’s the theme that unites everything.

America's idiot dictator says, "L' Etat, c'est moi."

"The Eighth Amendment’s ban on cruel and unusual punishment prohibits this course of action. White House lawyers should read the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark decision in Trop v. Dulles. The court barred the government from rendering U.S. citizens stateless, which is similar to what Trump is threatening to do if Americans are imprisoned abroad."

The Washington Post · What the Supreme Court has already said about banishmentBy John D. Bessler

Here we are on ANZAC day, where thousands gave their lives to end Fascism,.. Every single one of them would be so angry to know that Peter Dutton - who has openly embraced so many of Trump's fascist agendas - is standing for election for Prime Minister of Australia.. Everything they fought & died for trashed in an instant. Dutton cannot be allowed to Trumpanize Australia. Dutton, the Liberals, Palmer and the rest of the fascists need to GO!

A subset of the population wants to be ruled by strongmen, authoritarians who can punish perceived opponents, and illiberal autocrats contemptuous of the enlightenment project. It is evident in how many look to the mafia and its cinematic iterations as heroes. Trump is the destroyer; his MAGAts are the drug fuelled berserkers setting civilization aflame.

The New York Times · Opinion | M. Gessen: ‘Trump Is Building a Mafia State’By M. Gessen

This clip of Al Gore's speech shows, by comparison, how much American politicians' intellect has declined during the past decades. Compare this man's logos and stature with that of the teleprompter-assisted emptiness of Biden's and Harris's speeches. Harris emerged from her bunker at some point, and uttered a shameless "I told you so", putting the blame on voters. Neither she nor Biden ever accepted responsibility.

A real American tragedy.

@PekkaKallioniemi Re: "Is there a way out of trumpism?"

My personal #1 necessity would be to do *absolutely everything* to pierce the *trump propaganda bubble* and force feed that horde facts about the "maga elite" and their dysfunction, grifting, 'ungodliness', the billionaires' dystopian agenda...

Either the maga bubble built on insanity and lies is demolished, or United States is.

As long as that large segment of population remains captive this nightmare will continue.

"In other words, a civic uprising has to have a short-term vision and a long-term vision. Short term: Stop Trump. Foil his efforts. Pile on the lawsuits. Turn some of his followers against him. The second is a long-term vision of a fairer society that is not just hard on #Trump, but hard on the causes of #Trumpism — one that offers a positive vision. ... we can’t go back to the status quo that prevailed when Trump first rode down the escalator.

The New York Times · Opinion | What’s Happening Is Not Normal. America Needs an Uprising That Is Not Normal.By David Brooks

@energisch_ Was ist daran so verwunderlich?! Also m. E. alles wie immer.
