Anyone know of any good/reputable CV reviewing services/individuals? Specifically for the UK job market. I'm beginning the serious phase of my job search in the UK, and want to make sure my CV is as good as it can be.
@ApisNecros I'm sometimes on the interview panel at Red Hat, I'd happily give you some feedback if that would be helpful.
@hughsie can I DM you regarding the same?
A cv is a dynamic document that is tailored to the job you are applying for, so each CV should be a little different.
There are places you can go who run CV workshops, which are still applicable here, if you are under the DWP you can ask your work coach to put you in touch with local organisaions they work with for help.
Better still ask a trusted friend to read throgh it and give feedback.
I think thereis a 30 second test, a recruiter has something like 30 seconds or less to read through your CV so the first part has to be impactful, a strong personal statement (which is harder to write usually)
I think there is also the STAR method
Situation, task, action, result where you use that to describe how you responded to a particular scenario, and evidence what you did and how.

Always recommend that job hunters read "What color is your parachute?", gives them a whole different view of how to job hunt
