I'm having an odd issue on ioc.exchange where I cannot follow an account on Mastodon.cloud and cannot DM it either. The account in question is @OCCRP. I control it -- neither the follow request nor the DMs from my IOC.exchange account come through.
If I try to follow OCCRP from IOC.exchange, the status remains "Follow Requested", even though I checked the settings on the OCCRP account and follow do not have to be authorized.
However, people from other servers do seem to be able to follow and mention @OCCRP
Has anyone encountered this issue before?
@nw . Reset the relationship then try. Log into occrp since you control it, find your nw@ioc account. Block the nw account then unblock it. Could be some kind of hiccup somewhere. I recall reading that from another post. Also check and see if nw@ioc is muted by occrp. I guess you could also mute nw@ioc then unmute it, also. Good luck.
@paul I found the cause: My instance is banned on mastodon.cloud -- no idea why. I've asked the admin to revisit that decision and provide some context on how it was made.
@nw Glad you at least found the reason for the following issue. Hope you get it resolved.
