This pisses me off.
Many folks on here have been vocal about the bullshit pillory of Chris Krebs, sure.
But the big name cybersecurity firms just kowtowing to Trump indicates their own capitulation to the regime.
On their heads be it. Fuck em.
@tinker I really think this is a game of "prisoner's dilemma". Unless basically all of these companies come out against it, the ones that do know they're going to get crushed like Sentinel One, and on top of that, I am going to bet that a whole bunch of their CEO's/BoD's are MAGAs
@jerry @tinker It is hard. Even when the principals in the C-suite or Board oppose the lawless administration, if they are publicly traded they have a fiduciary duty act in the interests of the shareholders and the federal government is the largest customer for many cybersecurity companies. As Jerry said, it’s a prisoner’s dilemma where unless we all stand united we will all hang separately.
@Infosecben @jerry - This really does highlight how the apparatus of the current economic and legal setup can only allow for unethical actions.
When "fiduciary responsibility" means fucking over a massive amount of people for the narrow benefit of a few, then things are bad. Real bad.
@Infosecben @jerry - Just under half of *those who voted*. He doesnt have a mandate.
And no. We don't have to live with it.
Step up.
@Infosecben @jerry - Exactly. We most certainly need to accept the situation as it is. Right. But only insofar as it allows us to find a path forward to fight and change it.
