@artemist The deal with consoles was *supposed* to be that they're hyper optimized platforms built for games that don't have anything else on them to slow you down.
No background processes, no abstractions and middleware to deal with different platforms. You can profile your game and know it'll run at exactly the same speed on everyone's machine.
And cheaper because it doesn't need expansion card slots, lots of disk drive interfaces, a keyboard, or any of the other stuff a PC has.
Building them as "PC, but with more DRM" completely misses the point.
