Nice, I managed to get out before the heat struck, so it was still beneath 20 degrees Celsius when I came back. Finished one audiobook, started into the next: NETWORK EFFECT by Martha Wells (second part of the MURDERBOT series). Even though I felt a little tired, I went for a slightly longer route, which luckily worked out well. #Running #applewatchultra2 #audiobooks

Nie przypominam sobie jak znalazłem audiobooka tej książki ale jak z każdym, tak i z tym, miałem ciężki początek. Był czytany przez dwóch lektorów mężczyznę i kobietę, w zależności kogo dotyczyła historia. Dwójka bohaterów Barry i Helena, on policjant, ona naukowiec. On traci córkę w wypadku, ona matkę przez chorobę Alzheimera. Historia o wynalazku, który może zmienić świat, chorobie, w wyniku której pojawiają się wspomnienia o życiu, którego się nie przeżyło i próbie ocalenia świata przed zagładą. Bardzo przyjemnie mi się słuchało, audiobook na BookBeat w wersji angielskiej, nie znalazłem polskiego wydania.

1. Coughed less today and managed to nap in bed without coughing my head off. I’ll be able to sleep next to hubs tonight.
2. Finished a chapter in Braille. One more chapter and epilogue and I can mark another Braille book off my list of 2025 goals.
3. Hubs and I finished listening to another Psy-Changeling Trinity book this evening. I’ll need to see if I can find a good thriller for us to listen to together.

Using #jellyfin I naturally wanted to put the #audiobooks I've purchased on it. And I didn't want to do it all by hand. Then things kinda spiraled, they way they do when you write software for fun as well as for work.

we open on Rand and Lan doing sword training, and a wind that pins Rand in place up on the wall

this is totes a thing one can do with the One Power, but at this time there's no one near enough to have done it

Lan says "strange things happen this close to the Blight", which Rand takes to mean that he isn't taking this rogue wind seriously

he also says "with the Amyrlin Seat coming here, you would be better off being a week gone from this place", which Rand takes to mean that he's in serious trouble and that the Amyrlin Seat will gentle him, or worse

we also learn that Moiraine has been ignoring him

I just finished the audio book of Aqueous by debut author Jade Shyback! An interesting #Climate #dystopia for Young adults. I've finished: Assassin of Reality by Sergey & Marina Dyachenko

The second book in the Vita Norstra trilogy.

Yes, trilogy, School of Shards is coming out today!

(Though I think I need a break, I'm still thinking about the ending).

If you haven't read Vita Nostra, go get it it's incredible.

In Assassin of Reality Sasha is coming into her power and trying to stand up to the teachers and Farit as they try to beat her into submission.

The power of the novel is still in the complexity of the magic system and the palpable danger.

However, as Sasha grows and gains more agency she becomes less sympathetic, she is not as innocent and she makes her own bad choices.

I had a hard time following the grammatical magic lessons, but was rewarded with a profound ending that brought it all together and made sense. I had to sit down and digest it for a bit.
