For the past few months, my sites have been running much, much slower than the previous few years. In a post earlier today, I blamed my web host but maybe I'm wrong? It might be the fact that they're built on WordPress? I have a site that I've been building with straight HTML and CSS and it's running just fine.

I think instead of blaming my web host, who has been awesome for years, it's time to move completely away from WordPress. If, for some reason, I need a CMS, maybe I should finally get serious about moving to @drupal or @joomla, and everything else, build with HTML and CSS?

Over 10 years ago, this was my first ever #joomla plugin, now with Joomla 6 on the horizon I'm refactoring it completely to make it faster, vanilla JS instead of jQuery, WCAG compliant and modular for easy extending on other extensions.
10 years people... Looking at how it all started, I feel I have come a long way since then. So has PHP and Joomla as well.

Dear fediversed #joomla development community. For a new content plugin that adds content to an article I have to decide to either use a: 1. tmpl file, or 2. layout file.
When looking at the current Joomla codebase I feel that layout files are.mainly used bij components and not plugins, but that can also be subject to future refactoring.
Switching from one to another is a b/c break for users doing template overrides, so I want to make a future proof decision here: what would you choose and why?

Yesterday was the release of 3 joomla versions, stable 5.3.1, 5.4.0-alpha1, 6.0.0-alpha1. Which mean that this was the kick off for awesome feature. Autoupdate. And it's not only in 6.0 instead we decided to integrate it into 5.4 as well. #joomla
