An update:

My throat is sore meaning I snored lots but I also feel like I haven’t really slept well so I reckon the apnoeas are still happening 😔

Never mind, I’ll try again once I’ve reached 85kg or something (currently 94.9)

Reader, I setup the experiment wrong 😅

While I setup the voice recorder on the phone (I’m still snoring but not as loud as before) but I couldn’t find the charger for my oximeter so I tried using the Apple Watch to monitor oxygen levels but it don’t record a thing 😅

Next step: buy a replacement charger (it’s nonstandard 🙄) for the oximeter and try again.

I’ve decided to conduct an experiment tonight, now that I’ve lost 17 Kg in weight.

But first, a little background: when I was diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnoea in 2016, I was told that it was very severe and probably will never disappear even if I lost weight on account of my anatomically large neck.

I’ve come to accept this as my father had it also despite being average weight.

HOWEVER: some part of me is clinging on to the hope that, perhaps, all that weight loss must make some difference right and maybe I no longer need to wear a mask to sleep at night.

Wouldn’t that be the dream… (pun most definitely intended)

SO, tonight I’m going to sleep with a CPAP mask on and monitor my oxygen levels while also recording (to see if I’m snoring, stopping breathing or not).

Fitness update:

Since I've been doing these periodically over the last few years, figured I'd drop another upon my return.

I haven't lost much weight in a few months. I got a major case of diet fatigue after cutting got 2.5 years. Decided to take a break and focus on fueling my preparation for a handful of 5ks. I ended up putting on about 9 lbs but my body composition continued going in the right direction. Basically, all that weight was food in the belly and muscle. No significant fat gains. Thankfully I was taking measurements the whole time else that could have messed me up mentally. I restarted cutting and am already down 5 of those 9lbs.

For races, I knocked it out of the park. My goal 5k race for the year I ran in 22:36. Down from 26:17 at the start of the year.

I also signed on with a triathlon coach and have begun triathlon training. Goals for next year are to complete an Olympic distance triathlon and break 20 minutes in the 5k.

GLP-1s mixed at home are illegal and popular. It’s called ‘gray.’
