"The White House stated it will "absolutely not" return the Statue of Liberty to France, according to Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
French politician Raphael Glucksmann expressed disappointment in the U.S., stating it "no longer represents the values of freedom" and demanded the statue's return."

Gov. Greg Abbott backs bill banning 'non-human' behavior in schools kut.org/politics/2025-03-14/fu

The Forbidden Unlawful Representation of Roleplaying in Education, or F.U.R.R.I.E.S. Act, would codify rules against students barking, hissing, licking or meowing in schools. The “non-human behavior” cited in the bill would also ban students from wearing tails, leashes or fur, unless it’s Halloween or another approved holiday where costumes are expected.

A suggestion to any company or organization (especially media that isn’t The Onion) consider strongly scrapping any plans for April 1 hoaxes this year. Reality is almost certainly going to pass you by.

If you are The Onion - consider running an entire day of nothing but deeply fact checked entirely accurate stories about real actual news (you could fill a paper with just 2025 stories) with absolutely nothing that is an April 1 joke or hoax.
